
Going on a detox once in a while is important to your health as it removes harmful toxins from your body.It can also help remove mucoid plaque which is a build up of sticky mucous from undigested food such as processed foods and a high sugar diet.Once you have cleansed your body you will have more energy,your immune system will be a lot stronger and it will also help you lose weight.I will list some Detox Recipes that will help you make choices on which food to eat.
The foods that you should include in your detox diet are fruits such a strawberries,peaches,apples,bannanas and melons.Friut juice is also great,popcorn which is unsalted,vegetables like onions,broccoli,turnips,carrots and cabbage.Fresh fish,tofu,rice cakes,herbal teas as well as 2 litres of water daily.Your detox recipes should also have brown rice,ginger,garlic and other herbs that you like.
The foods that you should avoid when on a detox are butter,eggs,margerine,dairy products,red meat,salted nuts,junk food,processed food,,tea and coffee,alcohol and salt.
Now you know what foods to eat and what foods to avoid you can begin to use these ingredients in your detox recipes.Below I will list some recipes you can try.
Ginger Tea
Ginger tea with added tumeric is an effective drink that will help your body to detox,ginger has a lot of antioxitants which can help to remove toxins in your body.Add powdered ginger about half a teaspoon and a half teaspoon of tumeric to 2 cups of boiling water.Simmer for 10 minutes and strain.You can also add lemon juice or maple syrup.
Fruit Salad
Fresh friut detox salad.Start by chopping fruits like apples,bannanas,and strawberries or melons and add soft tofu and a little honey.This recipe would be great for a dessert.
Soups.
Soups are great when on a detox as it is very nutritious.A good vegetable soup is to add one cucumber which has vitamins A,B6,K and C,a ounce of spinach,a few sticks of celery and eight lettuce leaves.You could also add green vegetables such as alfalfa or parsley.Puree it all in a blender and add the same amount of distilled water and lemon juice.
Broccoli Soup
Steam 6-8 brocoli heads.Once steamed put it in a blender and add half of a avovado,a
red onion(a third will do),ginger root,a handful of spinach uncooked.Once blended add cumin powder,garlic and pepper and purified water.This soup will help your body get to an alkaline state.
The best detox recipe is one that contains wholesome healthy food,fresh fruit and vegetables and herbal teas.A week before starting a detox do not eat any junk food or processed foods and eat light meals.
